A small retail shop with products on the shelves and a laptop open to a new online store

A Shopify store cost has two parts that people add together by mistake. One is the Shopify plan and the fees on each sale. The other is the work of designing the shop, structuring the products, and testing checkout. Only the second part is a studio fee.

What a first build includes

The pages a buyer actually uses: home, collection, product, cart, and a tested checkout. Collections named the way a customer searches. Photos that match. Shipping and one payment method tried with a real order. Apps only where the theme cannot do the job.

A parts finder, a wholesale portal, a migration from WooCommerce, or a full visual redesign is a further milestone. Speed work on a shop that already sells is also its own milestone. None of those are secretly included because the word “Shopify” appeared in the brief.

How Uplaps prices it

The amount is written before the milestone starts. You pay when that store, or that slice of it, matches the scope. Hire a Shopify developer on that basis. If checkout is already broken, fix that first and talk about a new theme after the sale works. The note on failures is Shopify checkout not working.

Questions

Does the quote include my Shopify subscription?

No. The Shopify plan, the payment-provider fees, and the apps you keep are billed by those companies. The studio fee is for the build.

Is a redesign cheaper than a new store?

Sometimes. A redesign still needs a milestone for the pages that change. A migration from another platform is larger, because the old URLs have to survive.

When is the studio paid?

When the milestone is delivered. Uplaps does not take an advance to open a Shopify project.
